Sculpted by Aimee Connolly: The Irish Makeup Brand That Promises a Cruelty Free and Paraben Free Glow

If you are familiar with the Irish beauty scene, then you have probably heard of makeup artist extraordinaire, Aimee Connolly. Aimee is an award-winning makeup artist who has worked for several makeup brands, but has ultimately ended up running her own makeup artistry training academy; Sculpted Academy.
The popularity of Aimee’s Sculpted makeup range was enticing to me upon my never-ending search of cruelty-free Irish cosmetic brands. I reached out to Aimee to discover the cruelty-free status of her Sculpted range.

The Rose Gold gift set by Aimee Connolly is cruelty-free, vegan, and paraben free. The palette consists of three compact, circular shades; a bronze shade to bronze, contour and sculpt, a rose gold shimmer shade to highlight, and a cream, iridescent highlighter. The packaging is- of course- a gorgeous shade of rose gold, and the packaging is also bulky enough to prevent damage occuring the the compacts inside in the event of the palette being dropped.
Aimee also explained that her Sculpted brush set is paraben and cruelty-free, but not 100% vegan, as three of the brushes are made of goat hair. I was reassured that the goat hairs are sourced from certified animal farms, where the hairs are obtained humanely. However, it is in Aimee and the Sculpted team’s interest to transition the entire brush range to 100% synthetic hairs to make the range entirely vegan. At the moment, Aimee and her team are working through samples to ensure the same quality.
I tried the Rose Gold gift set from Sculpted to understand the hype surrounding the product.
Bronzer
This shade is a god-sent. Its warm undertones are the perfect complement to all shades of false tan- something I’d been struggling to discover for a while. Applied with Aimee’s Sculpted brush, the shade applies flawlessly to the skin. I found it extremely easy to pick up on the brush, and I did not struggle with uneven patches as I contoured, which I find can be rare with commercial contour palettes.
Rose Gold Sheen
The colour of this highlight is just absolutely stunning. While it picks up evenly on the Sculpted brush, and it applies flawlessly on the skin, I did find that it looked the best when I used it as an eyeshadow on my eyelids. The formula has an emollient-like texture, which transfers to the eyelids flawlessly and effortlessly for a natural, glowing eyeshadow look.
Champagne Cream
I have always been scared of using cream highlighters, but Aimee swears by including this step in your sculpting routine. Aimee recommends dabbing the cream highlighter on the places you would highlight normally, and to place the Rose Gold Highlighting Powder over the top of it for a spectacular finish. I tried this, and now I’m hooked. The shade is also the perfect highlighter for the inner corners of the eyes, the browbones, and the cupids bow.

The Verdict?
Go out and get yo’self a Sculpted by Aimee Connolly palette! In my opinion, the palette makes contouring and highlighting so easy, and the shades are flattering on all skin tones, skin types, and all ages. The brush set by Aimee has all the brushes you need to create the perfect bronzed, glowing look on both your face and on your eyes, and it’s so exciting to know that Aimee is in the process of making the entire range vegan. The fact that the brand is also paraben free is a huge bonus, too. I would definitely recommend Sculpted by Aimee Connolly to both makeup artists and makeup lovers.

Flawless and Pawless is Ireland's cruelty-free cosmetic blog created by 23 year-old cosmetic expert, Ailsha Davey. With eight years working in the beauty industry in Dublin as a professional make-up artist and cosmetic expert, Ailsha discovered some of the horrors of cosmetic animal testing- and the lack of knowledge within the Irish market about it.
