Ireland’s One-Stop Online Shop: Cruelty Free Cosmetics

It can seem difficult to find cruelty-free cosmetics that are 100% certified cruelty-free, and it can be even more difficult to find products that are 100% vegan! While many of Ireland’s department stores and pharmacies do sell some cruelty-free cosmetics, there is a one-stop online shop that makes cruelty-free shopping ten times easier.

Cruelty Free Cosmetics, founded by long-term vegetarian (check out her other amazing site, Celtic Vegetarian Cuisine, to find out about delicious vegetarian recipes using the finest Irish organic ingredients!) and environmentalist, Jo Maher, was created due to her own experience locating cruelty-free and eco-friendly cosmetics in Ireland.

Jo recognised the importance of an official cruelty-free certification, as many cosmetic brands place a fake bunny logo or ‘against animal testing’ sign on their packaging, and hence only sells 100% certified cruelty-free, vegan and organic products on the site. It is also in the interest of the site to make sure that all of the products sold are made of biodegradable materials, furthermore helping the planet.

In 2017, Cruelty Free Cosmetics won a LUX Beauty Award for the Best Natural Vegan Makeup Provider. And it is evident why! Sold on the site are popular vegan brands such as the PETA-certified Emani. The mineral makeup brand caters to every makeup necessity and is proudly paraben-free and irritant-free, as well as being made of recycled and biodegradable material.

Another popular brand that is sold on the site is Heavenly Organics Skin Care, a vegan-run business. The brand creates beautiful and affordable skincare products that are 100% vegan and are free from chemicals and palm oil.

To make going cruelty-free even easier, the site hosts several offers including:

10% Student Discount
Refer a Friend (and receive a €20.00 gift card)
FREE Shipping on orders over €50 nationally (€75 internationally)
There are also icons to pledge to both Cruelty Free International and PETA that you are going cruelty-free, which is one of the most important things you could do!
